 General plans for Arctic Gaming

As our numbers grow by each passing day I'd like to take opportunity to present to you the concept of Arctic Gaming.

The general idea of AG is making a noob-friendly RP server that is easy to learn from and easy to play on. We're planning a total re-vamp of the current script. We'd like to create a RP environment where the players intrests are put first. We do not expect our players to play and RP 100% correctly, the level of detail in RP will be expected to vary depending on the player and their ability. This is to ensure that new players are given a chance to explore and improve their own RP at their own pace.

As some of you may already know we're using the old IRP script as a base, our scripters are currently working very hard on improving it. As mentioned above, there will be a total re-vamp.


List of planned changes:

- Commands will be easier to understand and use
- Adding a simple yet understandable tutorial
- Creating a more "friendly" economy, having a pay day that pays even if you're unemployed.
- Installing a propper IRC system, One similar to those on places like IM, GF etc.
- Adding "Malls" these are shoping centers and instead of someone using the cmd /clothes, People will be able to go to a mall shop or their own rented/own home in order to get changed.
- Mapping LV: Making LV look more atractive to players, adding scenes that can enhance and multiply roleplay. Specific areas in mind are Fort Carson, Bayside, Desert areas. Adding business and homes in these areas.
- Making all sub factions into real factions (in the end removing all sub factions)
- Adding more vehicles, making sure people dont have to run too long to get to a car.
- Sorting out NPC's, having a NPC in the hospital reception, PD desk, Guard NPC at business' etc.
- Gun dealer and drug dealer jobs
- Making the HQ of factions and public places better, eg, The bank, City hall and PD. Making them more appealing and add objects that can enhance the roleplay around the certain area.
- Time system will be fixed (at the moment its daytime 24/7)
- Fixing the known bugs such as the crashing around the airport, the /seatbelt command etc.


Features/ideas that will be discussed:
- Colored names
- Levels
- Making jobs such as the sweeper job limited and give it more routes.



These are the main things we're focusing on right now, we are very well aware of the fact that theres more issues that need tending to and we will in due time. Feel free to make suggestions of features you'd like to see made!

- Colored names
- Levels

My oppinion is that Colored names = sucks but Levels is good.

And NPC's will be pretty easy to do but the recording process and stuff like that is booring Razz

And about making "small rp maps" for LV maybe some mapper could fix.. and I'll implent it to the script.

but if you remove the colored names and only put in another type of level system
as for example instead of leveling up an character you gain money from the Estate as you pay taxes if you understand me

instead of earning money from faction or jobs that you have to work your ass of and earn a lot of money, you get a amount of the Real Estate which will give you a bit money sent to your bank account and then go to your bank to take the cash out and spend it to whatever you want to.

or quick way, Estate give you money you take it and spend it..(just to hide it behind RP)

and maybe later add if someone hasn't payed fee or something the PD will look after you or dunno just a suggestion

So I've been looking trough the script multiple times and checking stuff IG and this is a really advanced script :playing and scriptin.. so I'll try to remake it so it will be ALOT easier and you might recognize some parts Razz

But these updates will be happening over the next week or so.

-Name coloured
only for Official gang members. Reason is quite simple, because ragged members obviously represent the gang so they've got tattos or bandanas to let you recognise them. The name coloured can also be toggled to avoid powergame and be dinamic with the RPer.

-Levels
Keep them but don't mix them with IC issues.

-Part time jobs(if you mean that)
First of all, a part time job must be RPed with playing character(PC) and you don't need to take it for earn money. Sweeper job, shouldn't be a part time job, you can earn quite good so can't be abused.
